avatarJust to let you know how pleased we are with the progress we and our 2-year old Betsy have made since starting recently with "Who's Walking Who(m)?". Even our neighbors have commented on the transformation of Betsy's behavior. Whereas she would try to control every movement up and down the street with her constant barking, she is now calm. She is a different dog. She will walk off leash and never stray. At night she will stay in her "kennel" with the door wide open, and she will still be there when we get up in the morning. She used to make herself at home on our bed, and the only way to keep her inside her "kennel" was to lock it up. It used to be the ritual for her to run to the door when the bell would ring, and she would be all over our guests. Now we "place" her and she will stay We have to thank Mary for her sincere desire to help us in all aspects to become happy dog owners. Her training methods are exceptional, and we would recommend her to anyone.

avatarMary--just sent our announcement of Kensho and I passing the test to become a certified Pet Therapy Team. Just wanted to send you a quick note and THANK YOU for your help in training. Before your work with us we could have never have passed the test due to Kensho's issues with other dogs. Part of the test is an encounter with another neutral dog. We were scored individually and as a team on 21 different things. There was a "no pass" or a score of 1 or 2--2 being the best. We got all 2's except for a "one" on the "reaction to a neutral dog" and also the "leave it" where he was tempted with a ball---his favorite toy. He did soooooo well, Mary---you would have been proud. We've worked hard for this---thank you so much for your help!! We're so jazzed to get to work down here.

Blessings, Karen Everitt

avatarHi Mary! Just wanted to let you know how thrilled I am with Benny's progress. We have both been working real hard. I can now take him in my car without anyone being with him in the back seat!! I just have to remind him to sit a couple of times and he's great! This let me get him to the groomer’s yesterday and he and now he has his new beautiful Springer hair do! In all seriousness I can't believe he is the same dog, and he has only had a few lessons. Your method is wonderful. Michael will be working with him at tonight's session as I have another commitment, but just wanted to let you know that your method has allowed me to actually enjoy being with my Benny and watching his amazing progress!!

avatarWhen we started 'Who's Walking Who(m)?' with Jade, our 4 year old boxer, we had both high hopes and a fair amount of skepticism.  We began training Jade when she was a puppy with several different trainers with only moderate results.  We have been amazed at the transformation in Jade's behavior after only a few classes with Mary.  Not only are we happier dog owners but Jade seems happier too.  We have been very impressed with Mary and her sincere desire to help us with any issue.  'Who's Walking Who(m)?' has far exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it to all dog owners!

avatarI just want to say before we started the remote collar training, my dog, Harley, was out of control!  He would jump up on people, get out of the yard (which would result in a 25 minute chase), and basically not listen to a word my son or I would say to him.  It was getting so frustrating for me and Dakota, because we wanted a dog for so long, but we were to the point of maybe getting rid of him because he was so defiant. After the demo, I could not wait to get started on the lessons because Harley was already making progress. Today... Harley and Dakota are buddies!! Harley comes when called, sits, doesn't jump up on people (especially the neighbor kids), lays down, and goes on walks nicely! We are working on "placing" him so when people come to the door he will sit on the stairs and not try to"escape." I am so proud of him and undoubtedly it has made us a happier family. Thanks a million Mary!!!!

Hi Mary! I had to email you to tell you how wonderful Asia is to deal with now. I had carpet cleaners, a plumber w/his wife and child, and Direct TV man here today all at the same time. Asia was in the house around all of them and listened to every word I said!! It was so amazing to see the progress she has made. She is still difficult around other dogs but we are working on it still. I think it will take some time for her to suppress those "drive" instincts. Thank you , thank you, and thank you for your efforts and training. It made all the difference to us!

avatarMary, thank you so much for all your advice, guidance, coaching with Bastogne.  I always knew there was a great dog in there but I could never get it out of him.  You did that for me when other trainers couldn't.  They didn't seem to understand what he needed but you knew right away how to handle him, and in turn how to advise me on handing him.  He is wonderful now.  He still has his stubborn streak, that will never go away, but he listens now and does what he is told.  Because of you I have the dog I've always wanted.

I cannot believe how good Allie is!  I was able to take her jogging for the first time on the parkway this weekend and she did so great! She did not go after other dogs, growl, or drag me.  She heeled at my pace! I cannot believe the transformation in her!  I know she still has a long ways to go and she still has her moments of "naughtiness"... but she is a much better dog... and now I have a running partner! I am just thrilled! I have never had the confidence to take her out by myself... but she did great! You and Dave seriously work miracles!

I have been a veterinarian for 18 years, a search dog handler for 15 years and a dog owner since childhood.  Dogs have influenced and been a part of my life ever since I can remember.  I have trained dogs as companions in my home and partners in search for years.  I thought I knew it all (or at least a large chunk).  Initially, I was not a supporter of electronic collars for anything other than extreme training, like snake breaking...but after seeing my best friend's dogs go through training with Mary, I was at least willing to consider it.  The "AHA" moment I had with Mary and her training techniques came when she helped me and my husband with our 6 month old German Shepherd littermates.  We unexpectedly had two littermates added to our dog pack.  They were very closely bonded and became stressed whenever we tried to train them separately.  It was unpleasant and time consuming to even try to let them go out to the toilet because they would not listen.  Mary showed us some training techniques and within 10 minutes had them walking on leash like they were a perfect lady and gentleman.  I was amazed.  No more stress, no more yelling, the dogs paid attention to us rather than each other.

Since that time, my husband and I attended a seminar taught by Mary using the remote collar in search and rescue training...again, a breakthrough with my younger search dog...Kibo.  Kibo is a very high-drive, playful dog, who likes to reward herself (with tennis balls).  During the seminar, she learned to be very attentive to me  and focused more on the task at hand rather than the tennis balls.

Mary's background in search and rescue and FEMA dog training and law enforcement affiliations has made her a wealth of knowledge.  I am completely comfortable in seeking her advice and consulting her for problems I have with dog training.

Sincerely,

Hi Mary,

I want to thank you again for the time you spent with Trace and I. It was an amazing experience and I can't wait to get started on my own. I'll order the DVD this morning and in a couple weeks I'll contact you to purchase a collar. The best part of yesterday was seeing my dog happy. It totally changed my impression of ecollars. And the benefit of your instruction was priceless. I've already sent an email to Kim thanking her for getting me in touch with you and told her how positive the experience was. The difficult part now is to contain my enthusiasm, not mention anything to my training friends until I have more knowledge to share. I would love to get them excited about your techniques and have you come back out to CA.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
